Wix Mobile Apps: Creating and Managing Announcements

Announcements are a great way to interact with your members and let them know about important updates. Create new announcements to deliver big news like product launches or upcoming events.
Duplicate existing announcements on the fly and make necessary edits to save time. You can also check your statistics to see how people are responding to your announcements.

Creating an announcement

Create announcements from your site's dashboard, the Wix Owner app, or Studio app. Share upcoming events, enticing sales, or extend a warm welcome to engage your community.

  1. Go to Mobile App in your site's dashboard.
  2. Select the relevant tab (e.g. Spaces by Wix app, Branded Mobile App). 
  3. Click Edit Mobile App
  4. Click the Screen drop-down at the top and choose the screen you want to display the announcement on. 
  5. Click Elements on the left. 
  6. Click Communication channels
  7. Click the Announcements element to add it.
  8. Customize your announcement under Edit Announcements on the right:
    1. (Optional) Enable the Show title toggle to show a title above the announcement. Then, enter your title under Element title
    2. Select the relevant option under Element visibility (Android, iOS or All).
      Tip: Learn more about showing or hiding elements on different operating systems.
    3. Click on Create new announcement to start writing your announcement.
    4. Enter your announcement.
      Tip: You can add many different elements to your announcement. Upload your own media,  embed videos from social media or show one of your events, products or services.   
    5. (Optional) Click the checkbox to Also send this announcement as a push notification.
    6. Click Post.
  9. Go back to Mobile App in your site's dashboard and click Save & Publish

Duplicating and editing an announcement

Save time creating new announcements by duplicating existing ones. Make any necessary changes to them such as the title or content as needed to tailor messages to your audience.

  1. Go to Mobile App in your site's dashboard.
  2. Select the relevant tab (e.g. Spaces by Wix app, Branded Mobile App). 
  3. Click Edit Mobile App
  4. Click the Screen drop-down at the top and select the screen that shows your announcement.
  5. Select the announcement to edit it.
  6. Choose what you want to do:
    • Duplicate: Click the Duplicate icon   to create a copy of your announcement.
    • Edit: Make the changes that suit your content best:
      • Show title: Enable this toggle to display a title above your announcement.
      • Element title: Edit your announcement's title. 
      • Element visibility:  Choose whether to display the element on Android devices, iOS devices, or both. Learn more about showing or hiding elements on different operating systems.
      • Edit announcement: Click Create new announcement and make the desired changes.
        Tip: Scroll down to Recent announcements to reuse a past announcement. Then, hover over the relevant announcement and click Reuse text
  7. Click Post
  8. Go back to Mobile App in your site's dashboard and click Save & Publish.

Viewing announcement statistics

Keep track of your announcement statistics, like the number of views and the specific members who have seen them. This can help you determine the visibility and impact of your announcements.

This information is only visible to you and cannot be seen by site members.

  1. Go to Mobile App in your site's dashboard.
  2. Select the relevant tab (e.g. Spaces by Wix app, Branded Mobile App). 
  3. Click Edit Mobile App
  4. Click the Screen drop-down at the top and select the screen that shows your announcement.
  5. Select the relevant announcement on the screen.
  6. Click Create New Announcement.
  7. Scroll down to Recent Announcements to check the number of members the announcement was sent to and how many have viewed it.

Note:
If you duplicate an announcement, the members statistics are reset for the new announcement and start from scratch.
