Wix Multilingual: Adding a Role with Multilingual Permissions

Reduce your workload and invite other people to help translate your site's content. Create a custom role from your site's dashboard and assign Wix Multilingual permissions to it. Your invitees will only have access to the areas of your site that you grant permission to.

Adding a role with Multilingual permissions

Create a custom role with a title of your choice and define the role's permissions for working with Wix Multilingual. Then assign the new role to a person of your choice.

To add a custom role with Wix Multilingual permissions:

  1. Go to Settings in your site's dashboard.
  2. Click Roles & permissions.
  3. Click Manage Roles.
  4. Click + Create New Role at the top right. 
  5. Fill in the details of your custom role:
    1. Enter a title under Role Title, e.g., Translator.
    2. (Optional) Add a description that outlines the new role.
  6. Click Multilingual under Permissions.
  7. Select the checkboxes next to the relevant actions for this role, or select Select All.
  1. Click Save.
  2. (Optional) Assign your new custom role:
    1. Click the Show More icon  next to the role you've just created.
    2. Click Invite People.
    3. Enter your invitee's email address.
    4. Click Send Invite

Permission types

There are two permission types available in Wix Multilingual; Manage Multilingual and Translate Web Apps. Each permission has a defined set of actions a collaborator can carry out. Read on to learn what each permission entails.

Collaborators with this role can add languages, translate over the editor and back office, and can manage all Multilingual settings like auto-redirect.
Translate Website Apps
Collaborators with this role can translate app content in the Multilingual dashboard and export app content.
