The feature is exclusively available through Wix Payments.
Authorizing payments and capturing funds
Authorizing payments lets you secure funds in advance for event orders, such as VIP packages or custom add-ons. Once enabled, you can manually capture the payment when you're ready to charge the guest.
Tip:
Authorized payments are held for 7 days and are automatically voided if not manually captured within that time.
To authorize payments and capture funds:
- Go to Events in your site's dashboard.
- Click Manage next to the relevant event.
- Click the Settings tab
- Enable the Authorize payments and capture funds later toggle under Payments.
- Click Activate.

Capturing or voiding authorized payments
When you're ready, you can either capture (collect) the authorized payment or void it, if the funds were held as a deposit. Voiding a payment releases the hold on the customer's account, ensuring no funds are collected.
To capture funds:
- Go to Events in your site's dashboard.
- Click Manage next to the relevant event.
- Click the Orders tab.
- Click the relevant order.
- Click the More Actions drop-down and select the relevant option:
- Capture payment: The payment is sent to your account. Click Capture to confirm.
- Void payment: The hold on the payment is released from your customer's account. Click Void Payment to confirm.
