When you install a widget on your site, it's likely to be a locked widget.
About Locked Widgets
- A locked widget is automatically updated as new versions are created.
- You can't change the layout of a locked widget. That usually means that you can't move, resize, or delete elements. Some locked widgets may allow you to delete elements.
- You can change the text, data, properties, style, and animations of a locked widget.
About Unlocked Widgets
- An unlocked widget is not automatically updated as new versions are created.
- You can change the layout of an unlocked widget -you can move, resize, or delete elements.
- You can also change the text, data, properties, style, and animations of an unlocked widget.
Locking and Unlocking Widgets
Unlocking
You can unlock a widget by selecting the widget and clicking Unlock Layout. Changes you made to the text, data, properties, style, and animations of the locked widget remain in place.
Locking
When you choose a different variation for your widget, you are prompted to choose Reset and Lock Layout, which you must do to select the variation. Any changes you made will be lost when you make this selection.
After you reset and lock your widget, it will start to automatically receive widget updates.
