Wix Blog: Sending Blog Post Email Notifications to Your Subscribers
3 min
In this article
- Step 1 | Create a segment
- Step 2 | Edit your pre-installed notification
Set up an automated email notification to ensure your blog subscribers stay updated with your latest content. This keeps your readers engaged and drives more traffic to your blog.
For example, if you are a travel blogger, you can notify subscribers about a new post on "Top 10 Destinations for 2023," ensuring that your followers don't miss out on valuable content.
Step 1 | Create a segment
Creating a segment allows you to target specific groups of subscribers based on criteria you set. In order to send an automated email to your blog subscribers, you need to create a segment containing a list of your blog subscribers. This is then added to your recipient's list in step 2 below.
To create a segment:
- Go to Contacts in your site's dashboard.
- Click Manage Segments.
- Click the Create Segment drop-down and choose how you want to create your segment:

Step 2 | Edit your pre-installed notification
Next, edit the preinstalled 'Notify when a blog post is published' automation to ensure the content in the email is correct and the email is sent to the correct recipients at the time you choose.
Note:
If a recipient belongs to more than 1 group, for example your broadcast list, contact segment and contact labels, they will receive multiple emails.
To edit your notification:
- Go to Blog in your site's dashboard.
- Click the More Actions drop-down and select Blog settings.
- Click Manage next to Manage your notifications & emails.
- Click the More Actions icon
next to Notify when a blog post is published.
- Select Edit.
- Click the Send an email action.
- Click the Set recipients drop-down and click Add recipients.
- Select Contact segments.
- Select the segment you created in step 1 above (e.g. blog subscribers).
- Click Choose Segments.
- Click Apply at the bottom left.
