Wix Blog: Creating an FAQ using a Collapsible List

Adding an FAQ to a post can give your readers quick answers to their most common questions about a topic. You can create an FAQ by adding a collapsible list to your posts from your site's dashboard or your live site. 
You can also choose to enable FAQ structured data markup for your collapsible list. Search engines like Google can use FAQ markup to display a list of questions and answers for your page in search results. Learn more about structured data markup
Note:
  • It is not possible to add a collapsible list to a post in the Wix app. 
  • Adding structured data markup to your site's pages does not guarantee that search engines will create rich results for them.

Creating an FAQ for a post in your dashboard

You can create an FAQ for your post in the Blog section of your site's dashboard. Add a collapsible list to your post, then enter the questions and answers that you want to include.

To create an FAQ:

  1. Go to Blog in your site's dashboard.
  2. Select the post that you want to add media to.
  3. Click the Add icon  beside the section where you want to add the FAQ.
  4. Select Collapsible List under Elements.
  5. Enter your first question and answer in the fields.
  6. Click +Add another item to add another question and answer.

  1. Repeat step 6 for as many questions and answers as you need to add.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Customize your collapsible list using these options:
    • How many items are expanded by default?:  Select to display all of your answers expanded by default, only the first answer expanded, or none of your answers expanded.
    • Only one item can be expanded at a time: Enable this toggle to automatically close an answer when you open another answer. 
    • FAQ schema: Enable the toggle to add FAQ structured data markup to your FAQ. 
    • Collapsible list direction: Select a right-to-left or left-to-right direction for the text of your FAQ. 
  4. Click Save.
  5. Click Publish.

Creating an FAQ for a post on your live site.

You can create an FAQ for your post by editing it on your live site. Add a collapsible list to your post, then enter the questions and answers that you want to include.

To create an FAQ:

  1. Log in to your live site using the email address associated with your Wix account.
  2. Go to the page of the post that you want to edit. 
  3. Click the More Actions icon  on the post.
  4. Select Edit Post.
  5. Click the Add icon beside the section where you want to add the FAQ.
  6. Click the Collapsible List icon .
  7. Enter your first question and answer in the fields.
  8. Click +Add another item to add another question and answer.
