Wix Blog: Adding a Poll to a Blog Post

Add polls to a blog posts to engage your readers by letting them vote on topics. You can add polls to your posts from your site's dashboard, your live site, or from the Wix Owner app.

Creating a poll from your dashboard

You can create a poll for your post in the Blog section of your site's dashboard. 

To create a poll:

  1. Go to Blog in your site's dashboard.
  2. Select the post that you want to add media to.
  3. Click the Add icon  beside the section where you want to add the poll.
  4. Select Poll under Elements.
  5. Select the type of poll that you want to create:
    • Text in a list: Creates a poll with a question and a list of clickable answers.
    • Text & main image: Creates a poll with a question, an image, and a list of clickable answers.
    • Images in a grid: Creates a poll with a question and a list of clickable images with answers written on them.
  6. Enter your poll question and the answers that you want your readers to choose from.
  7. (Optional) Customize the layout, design, and settings of your poll.
8.  Click Publish.

Creating a poll from your live site

You can add a poll to a post by editing it on the post's page of your live site. 

To create a poll:

  1. Log in to your live site using the email address associated with your Wix account.
  2. Go to the page of the post that you want to edit. 
  3. Click the More Actions icon  on the post.
  4. Select Edit Post.
  5. Click the Add icon beside the section where you want to add the poll.
  6. Click the Poll icon .
  7. Select the type of poll that you want to create:
    • Text in a list: Creates a poll with a question and a list of clickable answers.
    • Text & main image: Creates a poll with a question, an image, and a list of clickable answers.
    • Images in a grid: Creates a poll with a question and a list of clickable images with answers written on them.
  8. Enter your poll question and the answers that you want your readers to choose from.
  9. (Optional) Customize the layout, design, and settings of your poll.
10.  Click Publish Changes. 

Adding a poll to a post from the Wix Owner app

You can create a poll for your post by editing the post in the Wix Owner app. 

To create a poll:

  1. Go to your site in the Wix Owner app.
  2. Tap Manage  at the bottom.
  3. Tap Blog under Content & Community.
  4. Tap Posts.
  5. Select the post that you want to add a poll to.
  6. Tap the Add icon in the bottom left. 
  7. Tap Poll.
  8. Select the type of poll that you want to create:
    • Text in a list: Creates a poll with a question and a list of clickable answers.
    • Text & main image: Creates a poll with a question, an image, and a list of clickable answers.
    • Images in a grid: Creates a poll with a question and a list of clickable images with answers written on them.
  9. Enter your poll question and the answers that you want your readers to choose from.
  10. (Optional) Customize the layout and design of your poll.
8.  Tap Create. 
9.  Tap the Settings icon  to customize the settings of your poll. 
  • People can pick multiple answers: Enable the toggle if you want to let people vote more than once. 
  • Results: Select who can see the results of the poll. You can choose to let everyone see the results, let only site members see the results, or make the results only visible to you.
  • Show the vote count: Enable the toggle to display the number of votes that visitors have submitted.
  • Show who voted: Enable the toggle to display the names of the site members who voted on the poll.
10.  Click Save.
11.  Tap Next.
12.  Tap Save and publish.
