A delay makes the automation wait before the next step. Add a anywhere along the automation flow (e.g. after the trigger, before the action). Choose how to set the delay - a specific amount of time (e.g. hours, days), setting a specific date or choosing a date from the payload data.
For example, if your trigger is 'Customer abandons a cart' and your action is 'Send an email', you would want to delay the automation by sending this after a certain amount of time has passed.
