Accessibility: Turning the Blue Boxes (Visual Indicators) On and Off

2 min read
Visual indicators are blue rectangles that appear around interactive elements (like buttons or links) when your visitors use a keyboard to navigate through your live site. They allow the visitor to see where their current position is.
This is how they appear on the live site:
An image of a site with a visual indicator around the menu item named 'Home'.
Visual indicators are an important part of making your site more accessible for people with disabilities and we recommend keeping this feature enabled.
Note:
The focus ring is designed with two colors in order to fit most color combinations on your site, however it will be less visible if you're using a button with white filling over a blue background.
Next Step:
Go back to the Accessibility Checklist to continue improving your site for accessibility.
