Wix provides a cloud-based web development platform to millions of users in over 190 countries.
The United States Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) at the Department of the Treasury administers various economic and trade sanctions. These sanctions prohibit Wix from sending money to, or doing business with, certain designated persons and targeted countries.
Wix conducts ongoing monitoring of Wix customers activity to ensure compliance with authorities, regulators, payment processors and financial partners and to help prevent any illegal activities from being conducted.

The countries and regions restricted by OFAC are:
- Iran
- North Korea
- Syria
- Cuba
- The region of Crimea
- The so-called Donetsk People's Republic
- The so-called Luhansk People's Republic
In addition, substantial limitations have been placed on activity in the Russian Federation.
Possible Wix account limitations
The following limitations may apply:
- Users (and their users) from OFAC restricted and sanctioned countries:
- Cannot register or use any of Wix's services including Wix sites.
- Cannot connect to Wix (via pointing or name servers) domains with the following extensions:
- Cuba (.cu)
- Iran (.ir)
- Iran .xn--mgba3a4f16a (.ایران)
- North Korea (.kp)
- Syria (.sy)
- Syria .xn--ogbpf8fl (.سورية)
- Attempting to utilize Wix sites from any of the restricted countries, regions, or domains is a violation of our Terms of Use and can result in a revocation of access to Wix’s services.
- In cases where Wix contacts you via email requesting additional information as part of our monitoring process, you are required to cooperate within the specified timeframe. If not, your account and / or site may be deactivated.
