About Reserve Funds in Your Wix Payments Account

3 min read
In some cases, Wix Payments needs to hold a portion of each payout for a set amount of time. This is known as a reserve.
Keeping a percentage of your funds in reserve lets you easily cover refunds or potential chargebacks from customers. After a period of time, your account may be reviewed to see if a reserve is still applicable.
There are two kinds of reserves Wix can hold:
  • Rolling reserve: This is the most common type of reserve. A rolling reserve is when a percent of each payout is held for a set number of days before being released in the next available payout. Rolling reserves are held from each payout on an ongoing basis.
  • One-time reserve: This is a specific amount of money held from your available balance one time for a set number of days, then released in the next available payout.
On rare occasions, the reserve release date might be extended after your account is reviewed. This means certain reserve amounts will be sent with a later payout. This allows us to continue to cover potential chargebacks and refunds.
From your Wix Payments Payouts area, you can see exactly how much is kept in reserve and when it should be released.

To view your reserve funds:

  1. Go to Accept Payments in your site's dashboard.
  2. Click View Payouts next to Wix Payments.
Viewing payouts in Wix Payments,
  1. Click Reserve Funds
  2. Do one of the following:
    • Click In reserve to see the funds currently in reserve.
    • Click Released to see a list of the funds we've already released.
