Claiming Your Stripe Account

If you were connected to Stripe automatically when selecting a payment method, you must still complete your Stripe account set-up before Stripe is active on your checkout and you can receive your first payment.
Important:
Your Stripe account is subject to Stripe's applicable terms, policies, and fees.
To claim your Stripe account:
- Go to Accept Payments on your site's dashboard.
- Click See More Payment Options.
- Click See Options beside Third-Party Credit / Debit Card Providers.
- Click Connect beside Stripe.
- Enter your credentials to sign in.
- Fill in the form as follows:
- Country: Select your country from the drop-down menu.
- Your product: Give a brief description of the product you sell or service you provide.
- Account details: Fill in your business details:
- Your business type: Select your business type from the drop-down menu.
- EIN (Tax ID): If you have a Tax ID enter it here, otherwise leave this field blank.
- Business Address: Enter your business address.
- Your website: Enter your site URL (the URL must be valid). Stripe will review your site and may contact you if they have questions.
- You, the business representative: Fill in your personal details:
- Legal name: Enter your full name (no nicknames or abbreviations).
- Date of birth: Enter your date of birth.
- Social Security Number: Enter the last 4 digits of your social security number. You will be asked to enter your full social security number at a later stage in order to confirm your identity.
- Credit card statement details (Statement Descriptor): Enter the information that should appear on your customers' credit card statements:
- Business Name: Enter your business name.
- Phone: Enter your business phone number (the number customers can contact you on).
- Bank details: Enter your bank details:
- Routing number: Enter your routing number. This is the first 9 numbers found on a check issued by your bank.
- Account number: Enter your account number. This is the middle set of 12 numbers found on a check issued by your bank.
- Confirm account number: Enter your account number again to confirm it.
- Routing number: Enter your routing number. This is the first 9 numbers found on a check issued by your bank.
- Password: Create a password for your Stripe account.
7. Click Authorize access to this account.
Note:
The form mentioned above (step 6) has been filled in for a US business. Some of the fields may differ depending on your location.
