Email Marketing: Blacklisted URL Links in Campaigns

1 min read
If you receive an error when trying to add a URL to your campaign, it's likely the URL is blacklisted. URLs are blacklisted by major ISPs like Google, YAHOO!, MSN, and anti-spam organizations like Spamhaus, Barracuda, and Spamcop, among others.
Important:
Wix does not send campaigns containing blacklisted URLs as they can harm recipients' accounts or devices, Wix's reputation, or even lead to ISPs blocking all emails from your email or IP addresses.
Blacklisted URLs:
URLs identified as harmful or spammy.
  • The most common reasons URLs are blacklisted are, the URL links to affiliate marketing links, the URL links to a source using affiliate marketing links, the URL links to a source using an affiliate marketing program like Clickbank, or the URL has been identified as trying to distribute spam or malicious add-ons.
Affiliate Marketing:
Linking to someone else's URL for a commission.
  • Affiliate marketing goes against the purpose of email marketing, which is to promote your own business or ideas.

If your campaign contains a URL error:

Check the URL you are adding to your campaign against the following blacklist checkers:

If the URL is shown as blacklisted, you cannot add it to your campaign.
