Wixel: Exploring Your Project Workspace

This article introduces you to the Wixel project workspace, your creative playground for building bold, professional projects with help from the latest AI tools. Whether you’re designing visuals, launching a form or event page, or building a full kit of assets for your brand, everything you need is right at your fingertips.

Get familiar with all the panels, tools, and features that empower you to move fast and design your way.

At the top of your project, you'll find the tools that help manage your Wixel account and your projects. Click the Wixel logo at the top left to switch to a different project, access your account settings, subscriptions, and billing.

Click the drop-down next to your project name to add a new design to the project, access your media, rename your project, or delete it. You can also rename your project by clicking on the project name and typing the new name.

At the top right of your project, you can upgrade your account, check how many AI credits you have left to use in your current cycle, undo and redo buttons, and the options to preview and share your project.

At the top left of your project, click Add Design to jumpstart any creative project. Browse the design categories in the menu to choose the exact type you want (e.g. Images, Docs, Forms). You can start with a professionally-designed template, a blank frame, or use a quick action like removing backgrounds, editing PDFs, and more.

The action bar appears above your design, offering you different settings and editing tools depending on what you're working on. Select any design or element, and you'll see the options update automatically.

For example, when you select an image the action bar will offer photo editing options. When you select an event invitation, you'll get background and layout options. The action bar is also where you'll find the option to add elements to a design.

Along the bottom of your project, you'll find navigation tools to move between your designs or adjust your view. Use the Gallery View to see all your designs in the project laid out for easy navigation, or switch to the Focused View to zoom in on a single design and clear away distractions. 

Use the zoom to customize how you view your designs. You can zoom in or out, choose a preset size, or make the screen fit your project or specific design. Click the Toggle Pan tool to reposition your view of the project without making changes to the content itself.

You can also open the Layers panel  to get a structured view of every element in your project, making it easy to move, select, and organize each part separately. 

Wixel's built-in AI features are always available to help you brainstorm ideas, edit, and reshape your designs.

On the right side of your project you'll find the chat window for Aria, Wixel's AI design agent. Aria is your creative partner for creating and editing designs. You can brainstorm, create, and make changes to any design in your project - logos, images, videos, documents, PDFs, forms, and more - directly from the chat.

To open the chat, click Ask Aria at the bottom right of your project. You can minimize the chat any time by clicking the X on the window. Learn more about working with Aria.

The AI Breakdown panel, found on the left side of your project, automatically analyzes a design in real time and displays its main components. This lets you isolate and edit the main elements of your design (e.g. an image, headline, or icon) without working through the layers.

Click the AI Breakdown icon  to open the panel, and select an item to work on it. For example, you can regenerate or remove an object in an image or rewrite text and apply a different text style.

As you work, helpful suggestions appear over your design, offering ideas for what you could do next. Suggestions adapt to the content and context of your design, guiding you toward ways to enhance or experiment with your project.

To keep your workspace clear, you can show or hide these suggestions at any time by clicking the AI Suggestions icon  at the bottom of your project.
