Wixel: Creating and Customizing Charts

Use this option when you already know the exact numbers you want to plot or want to experiment quickly with different values.

1. Click the Elements icon on the toolbar.

2. Click Charts.

3. Choose a chart type.

4. Click Data on the action bar.

5. Enter your labels in the first row. These are the categories you want to show on the chart (e,g, months, product names).

6. Enter your values in the columns under the label.

Use this option when your data already exists in a spreadsheet and you want to build a chart from it. If the chart type you chose doesn't suit the data, you can change it aftewards.

1. Click the Elements icon on the toolbar

2. Click Charts.

3. Choose a chart type.

4. Click Data on the action bar.

5. Click Upload CSV File.

6. Select the relevant file from your computer.

7. Check that your columns and rows appear in the right place in the table and adjust if needed.

1. In the chat with Aria, describe the chart you want to create. For example, “Create a bar chart showing the populations of the world’s most populated countries.”
2. Review the chart that Aria generates. If needed, refine your prompt and generate again until it matches what you need.

1. Click Data on the action bar.
2. Do one of the following:
   • Update values directly in the table.
   • Click Upload CSV File to replace the data with a new file.

1. Click Chart Type on the action bar.
2. Select a new chart type.
3. (Optional) Check that your data still tells the story you want in the new layout and adjust the data or display options if needed.

1. Click the Text icon  on the action bar.
2. Choose what to edit:
   • Choose the font family and weight for your chart text.
   • Set the alignment for your titles (left, center, or right).
   • Choose a text color that stands out from the chart and background.
   • Edit the text fields and size:
     • Chart title: The main title that appears above your chart (e.g. Sales over time).
     • Chart subtitle: A short extra line that adds context, such as a date range or segment (e.g. Q2).
     • Labels font size: The size of the chart's text (labels and numbers).
     • X axis title: The label for the values shown along the horizontal axis, describing what each point or bar stands for (e.g. Date, Product name)
     • Y axis title: The label for the values shown along the vertical axis, describing what is being measured and how much (e.g. Sales, Revenue, or Number of signups).

1. Click the Adjust icon  on the action bar.
2. Enable or disable the available toggles as needed:
   • Legend: Show or hide the legend that labels each color in the chart.
   • Grid lines: Show or hide horizontal and vertical grid lines.
   • Tooltip: Show data values when someone hovers over the chart.
   • Chart values: Show data values directly on each bar or segment.
   • Axis labels: Show or hide the text or numbers on the axes.

• Line: Best for showing how something changes over time and spotting trends. For example, track monthly sales for the last year to highlight growth or dips.
• Vertical bar: Best for comparing categories side by side. For example, use it to compare how many tickets were sold for different event types.
• Horizontal bar: Best for ranking many categories from highest to lowest, especially when category names are long. For example, rank survey responses by the top reasons for joining a program.
• Donut: Best for showing parts of a whole when you want space in the middle for a key number or short label. For example, show how an annual budget is split between various departments in your company.
• Pie: Best for simple breakdowns where you want to show how a small number of categories add up to 100 percent. For example, show how your class voted for the next field trip destination.
