Wix Payments: Understanding Cross-Border Payments
2 min
A cross-border payment happens when your customer’s card is issued in a different country from where your Wix Payments account is registered. These payments are also known as international payments.
Cross-border payments are common in global commerce and apply for purchases made with credit or debit cards, as well as via digital wallets like Apple Pay or Google Pay.
From November 2025, a cross-border fee is added to all international card payments processed through Wix Payments. This fee is in addition to the standard payment processing fee and is applied only to the merchant. Your customers’ checkout experience is not affected.
The cross-border fees for merchants are as follows:
- United States: 1.5%
- EU countries: 1%
- United Kingdom: 1%
- Canada: 1%
- Switzerland: 1%
