Before you begin:
If you have a Wix Checking account, you can’t change your business type yourself. Contact Wix Customer Care, who can help you change your business type.
If you have a requested or active Wix Capital cash advance, you are currently not able to change your business type. You can contact Wix Customer Care to remit your cash advance early or wait until you’ve fully remitted your cash advance before you change your business type.
When you first set up your Wix Payments account, you selected a business type (e.g., individual, sole proprietorship, partnership, etc.). If you chose the wrong type by mistake, or your business later changes its legal form (for example, you incorporate your business), you should update your business type from your Wix Payments account settings.
Changing your business type in Wix Payments
You can update your business type in your Wix Payments account settings. Any new information you provide may be subject to verification. Keeping it accurate helps avoid payout delays and supports compliance with applicable regulations and the Wix Payments Terms of Service.
To change your business type:
- Go to Accept Payments in your site's dashboard.
- Click Manage next to Wix Payments.
- Click Edit Account Details.
- Under Business type, click update your account details.
- When prompted, click Update Account Details to confirm.
Important: Your payouts will be placed on hold while you update your account information and your new details are being verified. You can continue to accept payments from your customers during this process. - Fill out the account setup form with your updated business and personal information.
- Make sure to complete all required fields.
- Upload any verification documents if requested.

- Click Submit.
What if I decide not to change my business type?
If you change your mind before submitting the new details, click Restore previous details at the top of the form. This reverts your account back to your previous information. If your previous details were already verified, you continue to receive payouts as usual. If they were not yet verified, you may need to complete verification before payouts can resume.
