Wix Events: Creating an Event that Doesn't Require Registration

Even if you hold events that do not require registration, you can use Wix Events to showcase events on your site. You can display these kinds of events in a few different ways.
In this article, learn how to:

Creating a no-registration event with an event details page

Create an event without registration. You can edit the text of the button that leads to the Event Details page. 
Then, on the Event Details page, you can provide guests with all the event details they need. Make sure to edit the message text to make it clear that guests don't need to register. 

To create an event without registration - with an event details page

  1. Go to the Events tab in your site's dashboard.
  2. Create a new event or edit an existing one.  
  3. Click the Settings tab at the top.
  4. Click Edit next to Registration Settings.
  5. Select Closed as the registration status.
  1. Click Save. 
  2. (Optional) Edit the "Registration Closed" message.
    1. Click` the Settings tab at the top.
    2. Click Edit next to Registration Closed Message.
    3. Edit the message or button text.
    4. Click Save.
  1. (Optional) Edit the default RSVP button text in the Event List: 
    1. Click the Wix Events app in the Editor.
    2. Click the Settings icon .
    3. Click the Text tab.
    4. Click No-Registration.
    5. Edit the button text.

Creating a no-registration event without an event details page

If you just want to post your event without access to the Events Details page, you can remove the RSVP button from the event list. This removes it from all events in the same list.

To create an event without registration - without an event details page:

  1. Go to the Events tab in your site's dashboard.
  2. Create a new event or edit an existing one.  
    Tip: You can use the Short Teaser field to let guests know they do not need to register. The text appears under the event name. 
  3. Click the Settings tab at the top. 
  4. Click Edit next to Registration Settings.
  5. Select Guests don't need to register.
  6. Click Save.

Setting up your site for events with no registration

If none of your events require registration, you can remove the RSVP button from the Events Details page for all events. 
Note:
If you hide the RSVP button. ticketed events still display the Checkout button. When clicked, it leads to the registration form. 

To have no registration in your site:

  1. Click the Wix Events app in the Editor.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click the Pages tab.
  1. Click Go To Page next to Event Details Page.
  2. Select the Event Details page in the Editor.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click the Display tab.
  5. Scroll down and click the RSVP Button toggle to disable it.
  6. Edit the RSVP button in the Event List:
    1. Go back to the Wix Events app in the Editor.
    2. Click Settings.
    3. Click the Text tab.
    4. Click RSVP.
    5. Edit the button text (e.g. Find Out More).
