Google Ads with Wix allows you to run ad campaigns and pay for the clicks they receive with the Pay As You Go (PAYG) business model. Instead of pre-paying, you're billed monthly for your ad spend from the previous calendar month.
This postpaid model gives you more flexibility and makes it easy to track costs for your business.
Before you begin:
To get started, you will go through a free setup process:
- You authorize Wix to bill your payment method in the future based on your actual ad spend.
- No money is charged immediately.
- You will securely connect your payment method during checkout.
How Pay As You Go Billing Works
With PAYG, you run campaigns during the month and then pay for your total ad spend (plus service fees) on a set billing date the next month.
Monthly billing cycle
- Billing period: Each charge covers the total Google Ads spend from the previous calendar month.
- Charge date: Your payment method is charged automatically around the 9th of each month.
- What’s included: The bill includes your final, verified Google Ads spend, a 15% Wix service fee, and VAT if applicable.
Example: If your charge is processed on July 10th, it covers all Google Ads spend from June 1st to June 30th.
Charge breakdown
- Invoice source: The amount billed is always based on your official monthly Google Invoice, which includes any adjustments, coupon credits, or changes.
- Google-verified total: Your final charge is always based on Google’s verified monthly invoice, so the estimated amount you see during the month may be slightly different from the final amount after Google applies its monthly adjustments.
Promotional Credits and Coupon Use
Promotional ad credits (often called coupons) are applied to your bill automatically when eligible.
- Eligibility: Google decides when you get a promotional credit (for example, after hitting a spending threshold).
- Invoice adjustments: Any active coupon appears as an adjustment on your monthly Google Invoice. Google deducts these credits, so you'll only see the discount on the final billed amount after the month is over.
- Wix fee required: The 15% Wix service fee is taken from the amount that is left after a coupon deduction.
Ad Spend Limits and Permissions
To help you manage your advertising budget, PAYG has daily caps and permissions rules.
Daily spend limit
- Daily spend cap: Your maximum average daily ad spend is limited to $84.
- Limit notification: You’ll receive a notification as you approach your campaign’s limit in the Campaign List.
- Limit increases: To increase your spending limit, you need to contact Customer Support.
Permissions and campaign actions
Users without billing permissions cannot launch, pause, or resume ad campaigns. They can only create draft campaigns or edit settings and content for existing campaigns.
Pausing and Canceling Campaigns
There are rules for managing your campaigns and subscription status.
- Pausing all campaigns: If you pause your last active campaign, all ad spend stops immediately, but your subscription remains active with $0 spend. Any ad spend before you pause your last campaign is included in your next monthly bill.
- Canceling the subscription: If you cancel your subscription from the Subscriptions page, all active campaigns pause right away. After canceling, your final charge will be at the end of the month, not the day you canceled the subscription.
Refunds for Pay As You Go subscriptions
Pay As You Go (PAYG) subscriptions are strictly non-refundable. You are charged after your ads run, based on your actual ad spend from the previous month, so there is no remaining prepaid balance to refund.
The 14 day refund policy only applies to monthly prepaid subscriptions. With a monthly subscription, you pay in advance and may have remaining ad spend that has not been used yet. Only that remaining, unused balance can be eligible for a refund within 14 days of the initial purchase of your prepaid subscription, and only for monthly prepaid subscriptions, not for PAYG.
