Content Manager: Working with Rich Content and Adding it to a Dynamic Page

Rich content allows you, and others with the necessary permissions, to edit text, images and videos directly from within the Content Manager. You can add, edit, and delete the fields in the same way you would edit any other field type and display the content on a dynamic page.

Set the field type in your collection to "rich content" and enable a suite of extra editing tools right inside the Content Manager.

Important:
You can use the rich content field as an individual element on a dynamic page. Currently, the rich content field is not compatible with repeaters or tables.

Assigning the "rich content" field type

To use rich content in your collection, assign the correct field type. Once you set the correct field type, you can start adding and formatting your text and media content right inside the Content Manager.

To assign the rich content field type:

  1. Go to the Content Manager in your Editor:
    • Wix Editor: Click Content Manager  on the left side of the Editor.
    • Editor X: Click Content Manager  at the top of Editor X.
  2. Click Collections.
  3. Click the relevant collection.
  4. Click the header of the relevant field. 
  5. Click Edit.
  6. Select Rich Content from the Field Type drop-down.
  7. Click Save.

Adding rich content to a dynamic page

Display rich content from your collection on a dynamic page on your site. When connected to a dynamic page, each page with a rich content item has its own URL that you can link to other elements such as buttons, menu items or images.

To add rich content to a dynamic page:

  1. Go to the Content Manager in your Editor:
    • Wix Editor: Click Content Manager  on the left side of the Editor.
    • Editor X: Click Content Manager  at the top of Editor X.
  2. Click Add Content Elements.
  3. Click Rich Content.

  4. Click Connect to Data.
  5. Click the dataset you want to connect to under Connect a dataset.
  6. Click the rich content field you want to connect to under Connection Options.
  7. Select a rich content page from the Preview drop-down to see how it looks.

Media and text options in the rich content editor

In the rich content editor, you can work with a variety of text and media. Each type of content has its own settings that you can use to customize the look and feel of the page.
