Why did we create Wix?
All of us here at Wix believe that users are craving for means of "advanced self-expression" using rich media on the web. We decided to create Wix so that anyone, not just graphic designers and programmers, will be able to easily create cool and customized web content.
Can I remove the Wix promotional footer and tab from my Wix site?
Yes! It's simple to remove Wix ads: footer, tab and loader, with Wix Premium Upgrades. Simply go to My Account, rollover your Wix and hit "Upgrade" and purchase the upgrade plan that best suits your needs. You can learn more about Wix upgrades here.
Why do search engine still present a doc I deleted?
Just like it takes the search engines some days to find a new website, it also takes some time for them to recognize the fact that a certain website/doc is no longer there or that it was changed.
For a changed/deleted site, It usually takes about a week or more to be recognized as such, and a couple of weeks more for its cached part to be erased as well.
This is a search engine behavior that we are not able to control and it varies from one search engine to the next.
How do I work on my Wix doc offline?
It will not be possible to save a copy of Wix to your PC, or to work offline on your Wix doc in other design softwares.
But there is one way to see/present your Wix doc offline:
Login as usual, go to the editor and open your work in the editor.
Since the editor is the only part of Wix that uses the cache memory – you have to open each and every page of your work.
Then, you ‘preview’ your work from inside the editor – and disconnect from the web.
Your doc should stay in your computer, as long as you don’t close the browser windows.
Since some operating systems and computers have different behaviors, it is recommended to check this first.
Does my Wix doc have a Sitemap?
Every Wix creation has an XML sitemap that helps its content to be recognized by search engines and in the future - Analytics and BI.
If you need a navigation sitemap for your website visitors, simply add a menu or use buttons and then link them to your pages.
Can I add HTML to my Wix doc?
Sure! We now have an HTML Widget available in Beta!

Wix is a Flash platform and we offer support directly related to our product. By adding external HTML code you are adding products/code we have not created or tested. Therefore our Support team cannot answer any questions concerning HTML.
The HTML feature won't work with embedded sites.
Can i import/upload an entire webpage into Wix?
It will not be possible to import an entire webpage into the Wix editor, only the separated assets/media components.
You import all the media ingredients you like in the ‘My Media’ window gallery - and use them and the ones we already have for you, to build anything from websites to widgets and banners from scratch.
What is my Wix doc URL and how to use it?
You can find your Wix URL by going to your Editor > Settings > Site Address.
Also- Your Wix doc URL is the one that you get when you ‘view’ your doc in ‘my account’. In your browser you will see:
www.wix.com/yourusername/yourdocname...?...
If you want to use your URL or send it, simply copy the link up to the ? mark.
If you want to change or shorten it then you can change the username part by changing your username in My Account under Settings.
You can also change the doc name part by re-saving your document name to a name that better suits your needs.
In addition, you can change the domain name of your Wix site by buying your own domain name and connecting it to your Wix site.

The easiest way to add payment facilities to your website is to add PayPal buttons and link them to your PayPal Account.

How can I improve my Wix action/download time?
Wix is an internet multimedia rich environment and it is very tempting to create excessive pages; for best performance it is recommended to follow these guidelines:
1. Limit the number of animations and effects on the same page.
2. Downscale your media components before adding them, and make sure they are not heavier then 7MB for each component. Also make sure that you are only uploading the possible format: jpg, png,swf,mp3.
3. Distribute your content on several pages, this will improve loading times and overall load.
Is there any Picture/video customizing tool in Wix?
Customizing the media itself, like cropping pictures or editing videos is not possible yet!
That is because Wix is an online platform that is meant to integrate your prepared media: videos, text , photos... and then add effects, online links, other behaviors and more on it.
But we are working on these customizing options for future versions of Wix.
Until then, you can use one of the many online or freeware software’s that can help you with your media customizing needs.
How do I unsubscribe from the Wix mailing list?
After you have logged in, Please go to ‘my account’ and then ‘settings’ in the top right corner, and - unmark -your need for email notifications from Wix.
Can I use non Wix templates in the Wix editor?
You can only use templates that are already in Wix, in the ‘create’ area.
Third party css/html/flash templates will not be downloadable to your editor.
If you see a template in the ‘explore’ area made by one of our users, you will need to contact them for their approval.
We will then duplicate it to your account or publish it for the rest of the Wix community to use – depending on the creators choice.
How can I Use Wix for my business needs?
You can use Wix for your many business and marketing needs – right now! You can easily create and publish interactive and animated website, widgets, newsletters, banners, flyers, viral comments, office presentations and so on.
You can also use the Contact Form, the eCommerce Widget, the PayPal button and now the HTML Widget!
Can I Use Wix just for: banners, widgets, intros…?
Wix was designed to either make a website from scratch, or to create any rich media objects that you can add to your website.
If you want to add: banners, widgets, catalogs, players etc. you can create them with Wix and simply embed them into your website’s HTML – to your social profile, blog or any other online space you wish to have your design in.
How do I add Google Analytics /a stats counter to my Wix site?
It’s easy to add Google Analytics to your Wix site. Simply follow the steps here.
