Wix search engine friendly extends to image content, and images you add to your Wix sites are also searched by image searches such as Google
image search.
So, to further improve your SEO, especially if you are an artist, or photographer etc. you can:
1. Save your images with a name that includes tags/keywords that match your site & content
2. Upload to Wix (Wix will keep the file name and add it to the source code)
3. You're done :)
You can also update the Title and descriptions of your photos in galleries with keywords (via Manage)
What if I don’t want my Wix site to show up in search engines?
If you want to un-index your site in search engines, you can unpublish it by going to “settings”. Now choose “privacy” and make sure to uncheck "list in
search engines". Be sure to hit Save!
Please note: Just like it takes time to first index a site on a search engine, it takes the same amount of time, to un-index due to the search engines
scanning schedule.
A trick to speed up this process is to open your Wix in the editor, go to “File” and “Save As” and save it under a new name. Then be sure to go to
“Settings” and uncheck "list in search engines". Lastly, go to your “My Account” and delete the document that has been indexed that you want private.
Why isn't the description I entered into the settings showing up in the Google search?
Please make sure that the description you entered includes more than 140 characters. If it doesn't, Google might assume it does not fully describe your website. In this case it takes a different text as your description. Please increase the length of your text. After doing so, do not forget to click apply and save your work.
The change will not be apparent immediately in search results. Once Google crawls your website again it will update the new description.
I updated my website but the changes are not showing up in Google
Once you update your website (and make sure you save your file afterwards) your website needs to be crawled again by the search engine in order for the change to appear in search results.
This may take up to a couple of months. To view the last time Google crawled your website you can use the following search: cache:www.yourdomain.com. Through this window you can see how Google sees your website and the date on which it last crawled your website and created a cached image of it.
To speed the process you can submit your website directly to Google through http://www.google.com/addurl . In addition, feel free to visit our blog to read more on search engine optimization methods for your website.
Why is my bounce rate so high?
The bounce rate represents the percentage of people who enter your site and then leave after viewing only one page.
Every website has a certain bounce rate and this does not mean that people are not accessing your website. The bounce rate often reflects effectiveness of your homepage in leading people further into your site, the sources of your traffic and their relevancy etc.
Examine factors such as the keywords being used to access your website, the navigation's usability and legibility etc.
We have a blog post on the subject in our seo blog. Here is a link to the post .
