Upgrading

I made a Wix website. How do I upgrade it to Premium?

Simply sign into Wix.com, go to My Account. In the My Account section, roll over the thumbnail of your Wix site, and click Upgrade.

How long are Wix upgrade contracts?

Wix offers Yearly and Monthly agreements.

If you sign up for a monthly agreement, the contract length is one month and you are automatically billed on a monthly basis. If you sign up for a yearly agreement, the contract length is one year and you are automatically billed on a yearly basis.

After I upgrade my site, will I be able to edit it the same way that I did before and use all of the Editor functions?

Yes, you can update your website as many times as you want in any way that you would like to. In fact, this is a big part of what Wix has to offer - complete control of the Content Management System so that you can make changes and keep your site up-to-date.

With a premium account you will also have better bandwidth and capacity for your updates.

What bandwidth and storage do I get with a Wix Premium Upgrade?

A Premium upgrade offers you more bandwidth and storage than a free Wix. To compare upgrades and select the plan that best suits your needs, simply go to My Account, roll over your Wix and click Upgrade.

Can I move my Premium Upgrade to another Wix site?

To move your premium status to another Wix site:

1. Sign into Wix.com and go to My Account.

2. Go to Manage Premium.

3. Click Transfer.

4. Check the document that you wish to transfer your upgrade to. Click OK.

How do I cancel my Upgrade?

It's easy! Since Wix has no cancellation fees you can cancel your upgrade at anytime.

To cancel your upgrade:

1. Sign into Wix.com and go to My Account.

2. Click Manage Premium.

3. Under Status, click Cancel.

You will receive a confirmation email and your upgraded document will appear as "cancelled" on your Manage Premium page.

Removing Wix Ads

Can I remove the Wix promotional footer and tab from my Wix site?

Yes! It's simple to remove Wix ads: footer, tab and loader, with Wix Premium upgrades. Simply go to My Account, rollover your Wix and hit "Upgrade" and purchase the upgrade plan that best suits your needs. You can learn more about Wix upgrades here or check out our video tutorial below!

What exactly do you mean by “Remove Wix Ads”?

Web content created for free with Wix includes a small Wix tab on the upper right and a footer that promotes Wix.com when published.

There is also a Wix logo in the Wix pre-loader. You can easily remove these features by upgrading your Wix site.

Can I replace the Wix Favicon with my own?

Sure! If you have a package that includes removing Wix ads, follow these steps to add your own Favicon:

1. From the top menu of your Editor, click Settings.

2. From the Site Settings window, click the Extras tab.

3. From the Extras tab, under Favicon, click Replace.

4. From the Replace Favicon window, clickUpload Pics.

5. Find your custom favicon then click Open.

6. Click on your favicon to get back to the Extras tab.

7. Click OK.

Your custom favicon appears in your browser.You can find detailed information here.

Note: To see your favicon, you may have to clear your browser’s cache.

How do I change the title in my browser?

To change your website's tags, title, and description, open your Wix in the Editor and click Settings. In Settings, click the SEO tab and fill in the SEO fields: Site Title, Description and Keywords. Once you have changed your title, keywords, and description be sure to hit Save.

Yes, it's simple to use your own domain! To use your own domain, you will first have to upgrade your account to Premium and then purchase your own Wix domain or connect a domain that you've already purchased somewhere else.

I’ve connected my Wix site to its own domain. If I edit it, will it automatically update?

Yes! When you edit and save changes to your Wix site, changes will automatically be reflected in your domain as well. For more information about purchasing or connecting a domain, click here.

I added the wrong domain when purchasing my upgrade. What should I do?

You cannot update the spelling of a domain name once you have added it to the Domain Manager. If you need to update the domain name, please add a new domain with the correct spelling and delete the old addition. For complete information about the Domain Manager, click here.

I’d like to change the domain URL of my upgraded Wix. How do I do that?

No. You can continue with your current domain host. All you need to do to have your Wix site connected to your domain is to connect your domain to Wix. What do you mean by “pointing my domain to Wix”?

Pointing your domain is the technical term for a method of connecting your domain to your Wix site. Another method for connecting a domain to Wix is by name servers.

What is the Wix server name?

My Domain Name Registrar asked for the name of the Wix server and 3 different DNS but you only gave me one in your domain instructions. Why?

You domain name registrar thinks that you are asking to redirect (or transfer) your domain name registration to Wix. Let them know that you want to stay with them as your domain name registrar.

To connect your domain to your Wix site they will simply need to connect you to the Wix name servers: NS1.WIX.COM and NS2.WIX.COM or point your domain to the Wix IP: 216.139.213.144.
