How Do You Promote Yourself on MySpace? We asked some of MySpace’s power users to share their pro tips.

1. Promote Yourself with a custom Myspace Layout

If you haven’t already, make sure that your MySpace says “you” with it’s own unique layout. It doesn’t need to be flashy, but it shouldn’t like a generic MySpace layout, either. Jump onto Wix.com and customize your own free MySpace layouts.

2. Make Friends!!!!!

This is MySpace, so the best way to promote yourself is to make sure that you have a LOT of friends. How much is a lot? After Tom, Tila Tequila has over 1.7 million “friends”: and they’re all interested in her and what she has to sell and promote; So start adding friends – send friend requests to people you know and those who are friends-of-friends. And join networks and communities with people of similar interests… You may not be Tila, but you can learn from her example. On MySpace, you can never have too many friends!

3. Regular Announcements (& Bulletin Trades!)
announce events in bulletins

  • annouce stuff in friends' comments sections
  • spam in groups
    Post Bulletin and Blog Posts
  • post events in the Event area
  • bulletin trades w/ myspace friends who have friends you want to reach and visa versa

Send out bulletins. As your friends list grows, you can continue following the above steps, but you can also send out bulletins promoting yourself or your business.

Start writing in your blog. Write a few interesting blogs and then start sending out invites and bulletins for people to check out and join your blog.

4. Send Event Invites & Flyers

5. Create A Comment Virus
Post comments on people’s pages. A great way to indirectly build your friends list and promote your business is by posting comments on other people’s pages.

6. Use Extraspace & TopSpace

Include your myspace page in your email signature. Whenever you send out an email, you will be promoting your myspace page and building your friends list.
