How to Add Google Analytics
About Google Analytics and Wix
Google Analytics is a powerful tool used to analyze traffic to your Wix website. You can use it to track info including number of visitors and pageviews, where visitors come from, how long they stay, what keywords they are using to find your site and more.
It’s easy to add Google Analytics to your Wix site. Simply follow the steps below.
Please Note: Using Google Analytics requires you to have your own URL (like www.mydomain.com).
As a result we can only offer this service to users who have upgraded their Wix with upgrade plans that include using their own domain. Upgrade Now
Steps to adding Google Analytics
Step 1. Sign in to Google Analytics: http://www.google.com/analytics/
Go to: http://www.google.com/analytics/ and sign in: “Access Analytics”. Don’t have a Google Analytics account? Simply go here: http://www.google.com/analytics, click Sign Up Now and follow the steps.
Step 2. Copy your Google Analytics ID "Web Property ID" written next to your URL – it looks like UA-1234567-1
If you haven’t already, add your website URL e.g. www.mydomain.com to your analytics account “Add website profile”
Copy the Google Analytics ID "Web Property ID" that look like: UA-1234567-1. You’ll find it in your analytics account profile next to your domain URL.
Step 3. Go to My Account and open your Wix creation in the Editor
Go to Wix.com > My Account (Login if you haven’t already)
Rollover the Wix you wish to update your URL info for and click “Edit”.
Your Wix creation will open in a new window.
Step 4. Go to File > Settings, Paste your Google Analytics ID (Web Property ID) and click Apply (in the Wix editor)
That’s it. Once you’ve followed these steps you can track your site visitors whenever you like at: http://www.google.com/analytics/.
Please note it may take up to a day before you can view your stats.
